Utorrent i have seeders but my torrent wont download

I use Windows Defender as my anti-virus, and have created exceptions for utorrent in WIndows Firewall. I have also forwarded ports properly in my router configuration.

Running the tests from with utorrent using setup guide also shows 'Result: Port is open. Your network is properly configured'. I tried doing lots of things trying the latest beta version of utorrent, entirely disabling Windows Firewall, removing the router and directly connecting my PC to the internet cable etc and even reinstalling WIndows 8.

Then I noticed something strange. I dual boot WIndows 8. When I try to download torrents in Windows XP, it works perfectly normally. Also, within Windows 8. Everything works perfectly when I download from torrents using private trackers. I seem to have completely run out of options, and I just can't understand what is wrong. Please help me out. If you require screenshots of any particular option screen in u torrent or any other info, I can post it.

For instance when I got back on my laptop and booted up utorrent I had this problem so I checked the files I had no errors or file cannot be found. I'm getting a similar issue on uTOrrent 3. When the application starts it connects to trackers fine, however after some time like minutes not sure exactly, all connections to trackers coming back with status "Connection timed out".

Yeah I know you will say firewall bla bla bla, but it is not. Anybody know what is happening? I haven't seen anything like that in FAQ. Is it possible you have a bad settings. Try with a brand new empty settings file:. Open uTorrent's data folder and move both settings.

Incidentally, I added a torrent around 4 hours ago. I've been keeping an eye on it and the tracker status has been continually "Working" for that time. In the past I've occasionally noticed if a torrent has multiple trackers one or more may time out, but never them all.

Disable your proxy. Then try with a Slackware torrent. The other issue it is not just the proxy enabled there are a bunch of other features enabled for privacy along with proxy. Yes, lower it to a speed where the "Connection timed out" would have shown by. The ETA column will, of course, assist in how long the download will take for a set speed.

You can download Slackware with your proxy enabled if you wish. If you get a "Connection timed out", I'd guess the proxy is guilty I might be completely wrong though. It seems to have worked. How long will this work though? Once you're satisfied everything is working as it should, then you can delete those 2 files you moved - it's not like they're HDD space hoggers.

Each should only be around Thanks for your help. Because uTorrent downloading is based on Peers to Peers connection downloading files from other computers , the seeds decrease and the Torrent file becomes dead and impossible to download. You can search for an alternative torrent file with more seeds in one of these Torrent Websites:. Did the fixes above solve your uTorrent not downloading?

The only time i can upload is when I'm downloading I download fine btw, and the green circle appears and speed guide says port is forwarded correctly and accepting connections.

But when I have only seeds running the yellow warning sign appears. I have 30 completed torrents in my list and not one of them private or public ever uploads when completed. Someone please help me for I'd really like to start seeding all these torrents. I'm running Windows XP service pack 3 and 1 dsl modem hooked up. It has to be something very simple but I don't know where to start.

Sometimes I see one peer flicker for a half second every 30 minutes or so, this always happens with every torrent, no matter the seed or peer ratio. That doesn't answer my question I get this on every torrent i finish downloading and try to seed. Oh right, I'm new to this so pardon my ignorance, with only log outgoing connections selected from the peer traffic logging list i get this. Sorry for the lack of clarity It means connect reset by peer, however the methods they were using were man-in-the-middle injected fake packets that appeared to come from the distant peer.

Disconnect: Not downloading The "peer" at the other end is set to "don't download" and does not care to connect to seeds.
